Rosso levanto marble

The Rosso Levanto marble is a blood-red colored marble with white veining. It gets its red color, mainly due to the presence of hematite. It has a dramatic and stunning look and is highly desirable for use in the interiors. It originates from quarries located in Italy and Turkey both. It is extracted from quarries of a place called Levanto and the coast of La Spezia in Italy. In Turkey, it is mined from quarries in Guleman, Altinoluk, Elazig, and Anatolien. Its contrasting colors seal the deal in making it unarguably one of the world’s most unique and splendid red marbles.

It is a hard and compact marble. If it does get scratches due to wear and tear, it can easily be repolished to retain its shiny, cherry red surface. It can be lighter or darker red. Its veining patterns can be irregular, making each piece unique and versatile.

Rosso Levanto is commonly used in flooring, stone columns, and bathroom tiling. However, it isn’t a great option to use for exteriors as it is prone to discoloration. It is water repellent and thus, not suitable for use as kitchen countertops. Rosso Levanto marble price is high but is worth it due to its unique design and color.
