Italian travertine marble
This form of Marble is a unique variety as the Italian Travertine is formed by the deposit of limestone by hot springs. Due to this reason, it is known as Travertine Limestone or Travertine marble. However, it is more of limestone than a marble. It has a fibrous appearance due to the pitted holes in its surface, and it occurs in white, tan, cream-colored, and rustic forms. Its purest form is in white. However, stones with impurities may make the Marble turn yellow or brown-red.
It can also be polished and given a smooth and shiny texture. The only downside of using this type of Marble is that it wears considerably over time. Due to its high porosity, it can retain moisture and become slippery. It also requires periodic sealing because it is hard in structure. But still, Travertine has since ages been used as a building material, even by the Romans.
It is now commonly used as a building material. It is used to design stylish and dignified looking patios and garden pathways. It is also used in flooring, wall cladding, and in designing facades. It is a highly demanded product because of its easy maintenance and installation. Italian Travertine price is seasonal and depends a lot on its availability in the market and its authenticity.
